Your Life is Compounding. Which Way is It Going?

âś… Just like interest in your savings account… your choices are already compounding… towards or away from the life you want.

âś… A vision board is not enough without a system that connects vision → daily action.

âś… Small, aligned actions often feel insignificant until you zoom out.

âś… The quality of your plan shapes the quality of your results.

Hi {{first_name}},

Your life is already compounding.

The question is: Which direction is it going?

Because every. single. choice you make… how you spend your time, where you place your energy, what you prioritise, what you tolerate… is quietly building something.

Either towards the life you want.

Or away from it.

This week, I want to show you why only 1% of highly driven go-getters actually achieve the time, freedom, health, and fulfilment they have been chasing…

…while others keep running faster, working harder, and somehow staying in the same place.

And no, this is not a â€śget-rich-quick” scheme.

It is not a “manifest your dream body in 30 days” promise.

And it is definitely not another e-mail telling you to just *try harder*.

This is for the ambitious person who has already tried the planners, the routines, the vision boards, the goal-setting frameworks…

…and still quietly wonders:

“Why am I working this hard if I’m not actually getting where I want to go?”

If this sounds like you, keep reading.

Because chances are, you will relate to this story.

And, like me, you don’t need MORE effort.

You need an aligned plan.

Your Life Is Already Compounding

Quick disclaimer before we take this further: when I say “wealth”, I don’t *just* mean money.

If you’ve been part of my community for a while, you will have heard me banging the drum that your TIME & ENERGY are your greatest assets. Full stop.

Then, there’s your health. The quality of your life. The depth of your relationships. The connection between you and your purpose.

I see this as a holistic ecosystem that = your wealth.

Okay – now that we’re on the same page, picture this:

The alarm rings. You snooze. You’re tired. Eventually, you drag yourself out of bed, make the coffee, and then realise you’ve slept through your gym sesh and you’ve got to get ready for work ASAP.

“I’ll go later today.”

You rush out the door, get to the office, and before you know it you’re sitting at your laptop at 7 p.m. with 40 tabs open, frantically switching between a work spreadsheet and a grocery delivery app.

“Where did the day go?!”

You get home, too exhausted to cook (let alone go to the gym), so you order UberEats and watch House of Cards while scrolling TikTok. Next thing you know it’s 10:30 p.m., you drag yourself to bed, and promise that “Tomorrow will be different.”

Spoiler alert: it isn’t.

I know this loop because I’ve lived it.

This was my life for longer than I care to admit. And it wasn’t until I got radically honest with my lifestyle & choices at the time (including that year I was a “vaper” – ew đź¤˘) that things finally started to change.

I zoomed out.

I looked at my life as one whole picture.

Health, money, relationships, career, purpose, time, energy, ALL the things…

And I created a crystal-clear vision that aligned with my values, my “why”, and what genuinely matters to me.

That was the first shift.

But it wasn’t enough…

A Vision Board Won’t Build Your Life For You

Here’s the problem with this approach.

And I get this question ALL the time: “Is a vision board enough to map your dream life?”

NO, it’s not.

A vision is powerful… but a vision without a system is *still* just a pretty picture.

Because it’s one thing to know where you want to get to (which is a huge milestone in itself)… but it’s a whole different thing to create the structure that gets you there.

This is where â€śnested planning” comes in. It’s the process of connecting your biggest-picture vision to your day-to-day choices through strategic planning rituals (the exact ones I teach my clients in Efficiency Made Easy).

In other words:

  • Your long-term vision informs your annual priorities.

  • Your annual priorities inform your quarterly focus.

  • Your quarterly focus informs your monthly cadence.

  • Your monthly cadence shapes your weeks.

  • And your weeks inform what you actually do today.

That is when things began to change for me.

The moment I implemented nested planning in my life?

I stopped endlessly reproducing the same patterns of exhaustion, avoidance, overwhelm, and poor decisions…

…and started nudging the curve in a different direction.

The Compound Effect of Tiny Choices

Every decision you make either moves you slightly closer to, or slightly further away from the life you say you want.

One choice might feel insignificant.

One walk, one difficult conversation, one budget review, one night where you close the laptop on time, one decision to say â€śno”.

But repeated consistently? Those choices compound.

A personal example:

In April 2024, I finally decided to heal my relationship with money.

At the time, even looking at my finances could create a strong physical stress response (cue the avoidance of looking at my numbers, and nausea anytime I’d sit down to make a “plan”).

So, with the help of my financial coach & mentor, I committed to a simple ritual: a weekly Money Love Date.

I listened to the teachings. I reviewed the material. I did the homework. I showed up to the community.

And I returned to that ritual week after week.

Even when I was busy.

Even when I did not feel like it.

Even when a little voice in my head said: â€śIs this even making a difference?!”

Day to day? Honestly, it often didn’t feel like much was changing.

But then I zoomed out.

And recently, while sitting in my first 1:1 meeting with a financial adviser, it clicked. I had this moment of:

“Holy shit. I’ve come so far.”

The version of me from a few years ago would barely have recognised the woman sitting there.

And that is the part of compounding no one talks about enough.

Progress can feel invisible while you are inside it.

You often only recognise it when you step back far enough to see the curve.

Which is why I believe so strongly that an aligned life is built through an aligned plan.

Not because a plan guarantees perfection, but because it gives your small, daily decisions somewhere meaningful to go.

Here’s a visual that my AI Chief of Staff helped me generate to illustrate this:

Imagine what becomes possible for you as your intentional, committed actions compound over time.

How to Make Your Success Inevitable

If your immediate reaction is: â€śVik, I’m too busy to plan”, I get it.

I’ve been there.

When you’re running on empty, the last thing you want to do is waste your precious time on logistics.

But hear me when I say this: planning isn’t another to-do that takes your energy. It is the very tool that protects it, and helps you build the future you say you want.

Here’s the cliffs-notes of how I do this in my work, life, and business (and what my clients have now implemented into their life, too):

#1: Begin with the end in mind.

Zoom out. Get clear on the big picture.

#2: Identify the non-negotiables.

These are the core pillars that will get you there.

#3: Build a plan around your REAL life.

So many plans fail because they’re unrealistic in the first place.

Create a plan & system that works with your brain, life, and circumstances. The one that factors in the chaos and unpredictability of your kids getting sick… or the boss’s last-minute requests.

A good plan knows how to flex.

#4: Trust, review, and adjust.

Follow the plan long enough to learn from it.

Then, zoom out regularly by leveraging your regular planning rituals… which have been impeccably designed with your end goal in mind.

The Second-Best Time Is NOW

Before I sign off, I want to leave you with this:

We love to tell ourselves: â€śLater.”

Later, when work calms down.

Later, when the kids are older.

Later, when you have more money.

Later, when you feel ready.

But “later” has a habit of quietly turning into years.

Sure, the best time to start may have been 5 years ago.

The second-best time? RIGHT FREAKING NOW.

Don’t let your dream life slip through your fingers.

Take one small action that your future self will thank you for.

Then another.

Then another.

Let the compound effect do the rest.

To your inevitable successs,

P.S. Do you ever feel like you are living someone else’s life?

Working hard, chasing goals, ticking all the boxes…. yet somehow drifting further away from what you actually want?

In this week’s episode of Resonance, I share the planning formula we should have been taught in high school: a way to stop living on autopilot and start intentionally designing a life that actually feels like yours.

We explore how to create a clear vision, connect it to your deepest values, and turn that vision into a practical roadmap that evolves as you do.
