This is one of the greatest productivity hacks of all time. 

Today, I’m going to show you the simple (yet “easier said than done”-type) efficiency accelerator so that you can get more done, faster.  

I’ve leveraged each of these recently, and had one of the most productive weeks this quarter… while.. *gasp*… doing less.  

 

Here’s the thing: you’re tired. You’ve got ‘ish to do. Deadlines to meet. Mouths to feed. I hear you. 

 

And so before you stands this conundrum: “A or B?” 

“Work or rest?” 

“Clean or play?” 

“Tick all the boxes or focus on the 5%?” 

 

For too long, I’ve been standing on the sidelines, watching capable, intelligent, high-performing women burn themselves out to “get it all done”. 

They’ll smile through gritted teeth. 

They’ll do whatever is necessary to hit the goal – even if it means sacrificing sleep, health, or rescheduling that date night (yet again…). 

 

Maybe you’ve even tried to block out your calendar and put “self-care” on your schedule.

Or set the solid intention that today, you’ll finally log off before it’s dark.

 

And when it’s decision time… you ignore it and repeat the same pattern.
Do what you always have.

Delete the calendar invite.
Keep going until 
you’re 
actually done.
Even if that means a late dinner and no wind-down, yet again…
 

 

Before we go any further, I can only imagine the thoughts running through your mind right now: “But you don’t get it, Vik! I have SO MUCH to do! I literally don’t have time to fit it all in!” 

 

And I totally get how it might seem this way to you right now. 

I’ve been there.

Heck - I revisit "there" more often than I care to admit.

 

It’s pretty damn hard to see the forest through the trees when you’re running at 1,000 mp/h. 

 

This is why the conversation we’re having today is so damn important.

The Missing Ingredient in Most Productivity Advice 

 

May & June were by far the most “intense” months I have ever experienced in my business to date. 

Not just from the lens of energetic expansion and visibility… but, I’m not gonna lie… from a workload perspective, too. 

 

In classic “you don’t know what you don’t know” fashion, I kind of went into this whole 14 masterclasses in 18 days situ … flyin’ blind.

I was ready to deliver the masterclasses, that’s my jam. I love connecting with you “live”.

 

What I didn’t realise were all the itsy-bitsy-nit-fkitty-tech-admin-setup-thingsssssssss. 

It was my first time *ever* setting this up, and I’m so damn lucky that my business coach has a step-by-step process for how to do this.  

 

That process is about 100 pages. 

76 steps (or more). 

Multiply that by 14. 

 

In this early stage of my business, it’s just me and my VA. And even with outsourcing some of the parts of this Mount Everest climb to him… it was exhausting. 

I’m not gonna lie – I fell out of integrity a lil’ bit.

 

I went against my own advice and worked some late nights…
skipped a few gym classes…
started to fall into some old “hustle productivity” patterns, and it got ugly.
 

 

For the first time EVER, my resilience score (measured by my Oura ring, which tracks biomarkers & vitals 24/7) dropped from my usual “Exceptional” to… “Adequate”.

 

WTF. 

 

 

That was the reminder I needed… because sometimes, we forget this one truth: 

 

The better you manage your energy, the higher your chances of success.

 

Reflecting on the last 2 months, I was definitely not managing mine optimally, and it reflected in my results.

So, this week I returned to my tried-and-tested principles, and watched the magic unfold in real-time… 

 


 

If by any chance, you’re thinking “Nah, Vik. Success = get the work done. My energy has no bearings on the result.” 

I understand. That’s how I used to run my life, too. But it only got me so far… 

 

...and, especially if you, like me, are a Type-A high-achiever...

...then that drive, perseverance, and ability to “push through” is dangerous.  

Just this week alone, I’ve been speaking to so many women who are seeing the consequences of their hustle patterns.

  • Losing 2 kg in a week due to stress.
  • Overwhelm compounding into physical illnesses.
  • Mental breakdowns.
  • The emptiness on a Friday after a full week of exhaustion and overstimulation… *hoping* that tomorrow will be better. 

 

Left unchecked, this is lethal.

So yes, you could keep doing what you’re doing… playing Russian Roulette with your health, life, and relationships…

...or take these 3 simple AF steps to manage your energy like a pro. 

 

 

⚠️ Warning: just because it’s simple, doesn’t mean it’s easy. 

In fact, the simplest things in life are often the hardest to do. 

 


 

So… what are these 3 efficiency boosters I’ve been talking about? 

 

#1: Honour Your Need for Rest

 

Severely under-rated. And I don’t just mean nighttime sleep.

I mean, sleep when your body is telling you that it needs to sleep. 

Here’s the real-time example: this week alone, I had more impromptu naps than I can count.
Each of them was preceded by daunting thoughts of “But I still have XYZ to do… maybe after I finish, then I’ll rest.”
 

 

However, I knew well enough not to listen to that voice and chose the nap instead.

 

The energy, productivity, and efficiency available to me on the other side? 

Epic.

Not only did I get all my work done (faster), but I was also well-rested and felt great. 

There is no “magic pill” that can get you better results than good quality sleep… especially in the moments your body needs it the most. 

 

#2: Refill Your Energy BEFORE You Spend 

 

And no, I don’t mean watching talking dog videos on Instagram (although, those have proven to be very entertaining lately 😂). 

I’ve kept this one pretty generic, but in essence, this is mentally stimulating, activates your right-brain thinking, and most importantly… brings you joy. 

 

Instead of spending my evenings buried in busywork just to “feel” productive, I chose to reconnect with some of my hobbies this week: painting, playing the piano, and being more present with Piper 🐾. 

 

Not only did they fill up my energy cup, but I actually came up with some really great ideas and creative solutions for my business while in that “flow state”, without having to effort more or push harder. 

 

Because you can’t think or force your way into your next breakthrough.

You get to curate the environment to facilitate it, instead. 

 

#3: Protect Your Attention Like Your Greatest Asset

 

If I had a penny for every time my brain came up with a “new & fun” idea/task to pursue…
I would have a staff of 10 by now.
😂

 

The drift of shiny objects, new opportunities, and “grass is greener” decoys will always be there. That’s part of life – especially in our overstimulating, modern world. 

 

So, this is all about prioritising. 

Focus on the ONE thing.
ONE big rock/project at a time.

 

The laser-sharp focus is going to help you get your work done faster, more effectively, and… to be frank, much more enjoyably, too. 

 

As one of my clients recently shared on our call:
“You 
can’t go chasing two bunny rabbits at once. Pick your ONE rabbit and catch it. Then, you can move on to the next one.”

Can you imagine trying to catch 'em all simultaneously?!

EXHAUSTING.

 

So, stop treating your to-do list like an all-you-can-eat buffet and practice an elite fine-dining experience where simplicity, balance, and focus are the key to success. 

 


 

So now... You have a choice. 

 

You can continue believing that success belongs to the person willing to sacrifice the most... 

 

Or you can become the type of person who protects their energy because they understand that your energy is the engine behind every great result. 

 

Because here's what I've discovered... 

 

The highest performers don't simply manage their calendars “better”. 

 

They manage themselves.
