Resonance – Episode 66
Verbatim Transcript
Speaker: Viktoria Levenberg
Guest Speaker: Megan Blacksmith
Viktoria Levenberg: We tend to value money above all else, when actually it’s the time and the
energy and the memories.
Just gotta push harder and just do more, and then you’ll be successful. And it’s like, no. Actually,
no. Especially not for women.
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah, I wanna help people. That’s it. I’m gonna become a health coach.
That’s just the magic of when we believe in ourselves, invest in ourselves, do it scared. I’m very
grateful that this is my life and this is how it is.
Viktoria Levenberg: Imagine if you could reprogram your subconscious mind to make more
money, get the promotion, and have a bigger impact in your business, while living a life of joy,
fulfilment, and peace. In today’s episode, you are gonna hear from Megan Blacksmith about the
power of neuro-linguistic programming, so that you can stop letting the conditioning, the
upbringing, and the damn limiting beliefs holding you back from achieving your next level in
work, life, and business. Let’s begin.
Viktoria Levenberg: Welcome to Resonance, the podcast for high performers and entrepreneurs
who want to do life, work, and success differently. I am your host, Viktoria Levenberg, and I’m
obsessed with efficiency, productivity, and planning in a way that harnesses your energy and your
natural rhythms, while keeping you in alignment and integrity. Because I have figured out that
lasting success is not about the hustle. It is about being in Resonance. Let’s begin.
Viktoria Levenberg: How many times have you said that you wanted to do something, and then
you instantly shut yourself down, like, “Oh, no, no, no, no. There’s no way I could ever do this. No,
I, I really would love to do this, but there’s, it’s just not, I’m just not cut out for this.” Or maybe
you’re already doing, chasing your big goal, and you’re doing all the right things on paper,
showing up every day, working hard, efforting, pushing, only have to have, like, nothing to show
for it when you look at your bank account or the results that you’re getting.
It’s not you, okay? It is the subconscious programming that is running the show. So by the end of
this episode, you will know exactly how to eliminate the things that are standing in the way of
you making more money, getting the promotion, and growing your business, so that you can
spend your precious time doing what you love rather than hustling harder.
Let’s dive in.
Viktoria Levenberg: Megan, welcome to Resonance. I am so grateful that you are here. I’m so
excited to hear your story and a lot of what you share with your clients. So why don’t you
introduce yourself, both to me and to our listeners? Tell us a bit about you, what you do, and how
you got here.
Megan Blacksmith: Thank you, Viktoria. Thank you for having me. I, let’s, let’s go back. Let’s go
back to little itty bitty Megan.
Viktoria Levenberg: Haha, yes. I love it, yes.
Megan Blacksmith: Okay. So I have always been obsessed with how things work and how people
work and why they do what they do. Like, what is, what it, what it is they’re thinking, what it is
their strategies are. And so that’s been something just running in the background since I was
really, really little.
And along with that, I was also really good in math. So as I came into high school, someone in my
family said, “Hey, why don’t you, why don’t you become an engineer? You’re really good at
math.” So I said, “Okay,” and it took me down this path of mechanical engineering.
And so there was this, I love to figure things out, and that part was still present. And when I got
into the job and I was in a corporate, you know, in an office for eight years, and I was doing that
whole thing, really quickly started to realise I am so out of place here.
I was bringing in my juicer, and I had my chia seeds, and I had—
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh my God. That’s literally me right now. Haha.
Megan Blacksmith: We’d be, we’d be stretching on the breaks, and people are like, “Who is this
girl?” And I was the only woman in the whole department. So the whole thing was such a miss,
such a mismatch. And I Learned, I Learned so much from it.
And there was this kind of, like, figuring things out, although at that time it was with machines.
And I was actually designing electrical connectors that go in cars. So at some point I just said, I
love the, I love the work and the thinking, and I don’t love creating little plastic parts that
essentially are polluting the world. And I could not get quite past that.
At the same time, had my own health crash after having my first child, which led me to finding,
luckily, uh, the world of holistic health, functional medicine, the idea that everything we do,
everything we put in the body, on the body, everything we eat, everything we think, it just
opened me to this whole world, right?
I feel like people get to that, some people get to that because of a physical problem, some people
get to that of an emotional or a relationship, and that’s, that was how I got there.
And luckily found just people who were all the modalities. I started to realise just there’s so much
more to this, and I said, “That’s it. I’m gonna become a health coach.” So I went down that path.
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh my God. And I just did. Yes. I’m laughing so much because it’s like you’re
telling my story. This is the parallel; the divine parallel is wild. Okay, so you became a health
coach. Tell me more.
Megan Blacksmith: I became a health coach, and now of course what I didn’t know, I remember
saying, “Oh yeah, I wanna help people.” So I went and I, you know, did health coaching school. I
did functional diagnostic nutrition school. Like, I started learning and I said, “I’m gonna help
people, but I’m not gonna do any of that business stuff. Like, I’m not, I’m not gonna do a podcast.
I am not doing Instagram,” right? I was like, “I just want to help people.”
Ha ha. And as you’re laughing and people listening know, that’s not how it works.
Viktoria Levenberg: Wait, you mean you can’t just, like, go out there and do what you wanna do?
You actually have to tell people about it so they can find you and pay you for your services?
What?
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah. That whole world. The whole world of my own resistance, my own
beliefs, my, about money, about visibility, about, like, who am I to start a podcast or say these
things? So that brought me down a different path.
So there we went, and I found, I found NLP, neuro-linguistic programming, which is what I do
now, NLP and hypnosis. I found that really for, again, just a struggle I was having in my personal
life with my husband.
So at each point, I feel like what I’ve been good at doing is failing really hard and fast and then
going deep into it and just saying, “Alright, what, what are we gonna learn here? How am I gonna
do this?” And when I would come out of that, whichever flavour of thing that was, I would realise
how few people had the resources to come out of that. Or, right, I would find so much and I’d be
like, “Okay, now I’m, now I’m sharing this.”
So NLP was the thing that for me really unlocked, um, things with my physical body that I hadn’t
been able to touch with health, health coaching. So the subconscious was really unlocked, and
then I finally had a tool for the people who I was working with who are willing to do everything,
Viktoria.
You know, the people who are so compliant, and you’re like, their, their results just don’t match,
right? The results don’t match the f, the effort. We’ll just put it that way, like—
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: And each time I’d start to realise, oh, there’s just something so much deeper
here. And so then now I had a subconscious tool. I had a way to help reprogram that for them.
And now we’re shifting, you know, that event that they had when they were 3 years old, and the
same supplements, the same process, the same thing are actually now, their numbers are
shifting.
And I was doing functional, I was doing functional lab work at the time. We’re doing, you know,
hormone tests and a brain chemistry test, so we’re actually getting to see this is shifting. And I
believe fully in that, and it was super cool to see people stick to the same process.
But if you don’t believe that it is safe to be in a body that’s whole or healed or happy, or there
can be so many different things running in the background that we’re not ever consciously
saying, “Hey, I, I don’t wanna feel well.”
Um, and I did it myself, at same thing with myself. I could not recover from a mold situation until I
really got to a, um, an underlying belief that I had to have chaos in my life. I had to be really
hurting to actually get help.
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh, that one rings so, oh, true. It’s like almost this, when you said, “I don’t
believe I can feel well,” what came through for me was, like, “I don’t believe I deserve to feel
well.” There’s, like, the worthiness piece as well that so many of us struggle with, like myself
included. It’s like, ugh.
Megan Blacksmith: Uh-huh. The worthiness. I know, just saying, “Oh, hey, I want help driving the
kids or help making dinner.” At that point, this has been many years now, I’m a different person,
but at that point I wouldn’t do it. So then when I got really sick, I had to do it. And now I have
people helping me and driving the kids and making dinner and—
Viktoria Levenberg: And let me guess, at that point when you didn’t want to do it and then you
had to do it, then you had a story about the fact that you had to do it and what that meant about
you, and it was like, “How, what’s wrong with you? Get off, out of bed.”
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah, right. I couldn’t even enjoy getting the help. And now realising, um,
now when I’m working with people, and a lot of times women, and I’ll tell them, I’m like, “You
know, my husband does everything now. My husband, he cooks, he cleans, he drives the kids,
and I sit there and I do a puzzle while he’s cooking us dinner.”
And most of them look at me mortified. Like, the idea of sitting and receiving or doing nothing
while someone is doing something for you can be really uncomfortable for people.
Viktoria Levenberg: Like, I can only imagine some, some of my listeners right now would be
going, like, “This makes me want to crawl out of my own skin.”
And this is, like, so, oh my gosh. You know, I was saying before we hit record, like, divine timing.
This is all perfectly kind of come together, because it is so interesting that you just described that
exact scenario of, like, your husband cooking dinner and you puzzling. That was literally me two
days ago.
My partner’s kind of, cause I’ve been so busy in, in business and kind of, like, really leaning in, he
kind of took over or leaned in more with some of the household things, like, you know, walking
the dog in the morning, cooking dinner at night.
And two days ago, he was cooking dinner while I chose to do my little paint-by-numbers thing.
And as I was doing that, I heard a voice in the back of my head being like, “What are you doing?
Excuse, like, shouldn’t you be helping? Is this even okay?” I was like, “Ah.” Hahaha.
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah, the voice, the voices are, the voices are big. And it doesn’t seem like
that big of a deal. And imagine we all, many people will know, when it’s running all day, every day
in the background, there’s just never really any peace. There’s never calmness fully in the body.
There’s never receiving, accepting.
And that was the pattern that I saw with the people who were not getting well health-wise, or
who were not expanding their business or their leadership skills. It’s almost like the less someone
is willing to do, honestly, the less someone is willing to do, the better they are doing.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yes. Yes. And it’s sort of almost, what instantly springs to mind is our business
coach and mentor is like, “The less I do, the more I make.” And even though there was always a
part of me that, like, got it, the, there’s this other part that’s just, like, resisting it, because we’ve
been so indoctrinated into the hustle productivity paradigm, which is a lot of why, like, I also do
what I do, is kind of debunking that myth.
Because you’ve been in, in the corporate space, and to be honest, even in entrepreneurship,
there is that toxic hustle bro mindset of, like, you just gotta push harder and do more, and then
you’ll be successful. And it’s like, no. Actually, no. Especially not for women.
Megan Blacksmith: And I imagine for you, because I’ve done it, and there was, like, a burn, there
was a burnout, and I am in for the long haul. I wanna do this for the next 40 years, right? So, like,
I’ve got a lot in me, so
Viktoria Levenberg: Let’s go!
Megan Blacksmith: Right?
There’s, like, I don’t want to do a quick sprint that’s a burnout. I want to build a business in the
way that this is fulfilling in the long run, right? Like, that it just is built—
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm.
Megan Blacksmith: You know, built around something that’s sustainable.
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm. I love that.
Megan Blacksmith: Which. I think that’s another thing, Viktoria, is every summer, and from the
beginning, I’ve been in online business for 13 years now, so it’s been quite a while, and from the
health coaching and now into the NLP training. And I, from the very beginning, I take off six
weeks in the summer.
Viktoria Levenberg: Hmm. Wow. Okay.
Megan Blacksmith: I know here in America, where it’s summer, I just got back from my, my time.
We go to the lake in New Hampshire, and everyone says, like, “Oh my God, you’re so lucky,”
right? Everyone I run into there. “You’re so lucky to be off this summer.”
And I thought, yeah, well, I mean, I, it’s, I’m very grateful that this is my life and this is how it is.
And I was thinking back that even 13 years ago, when I didn’t have- and this is not financial
advice by any means, I didn’t really have the money or the means to take the time off. It wasn’t
like things were super abundant at that point.
And I still made a decision. I had a business partner at that point, and I said, “Hey, I would love to
work together, and this, I’d like to be off for this short period of time when my kids are off. I’d like
to be off, like, fully off. I’d like to create our structure around that.” And she said, “Of course.”
And so it has been, I stick to it, it has been that way for every year. And I like to share that just
because it was a, it was a decision. It wasn’t really a, “Someday when I have enough money,” or,
“Someday when this makes sense.”
I don’t, I don’t really know that it will ever make sense. I mean, there’s always more to do. There’s
always other options. There’s always, even this year, my mind came in pretty strong this year of,
“Should you still be taking this time off?” Because this year I set a much bigger goal for myself.
In the fall, I’m hosting a big event. So I’m hosting a 2, I have a 200-person space in October.
Viktoria Levenberg: Wow.
Megan Blacksmith: In Virginia Beach. And the biggest event I’ve ever hosted is 50. So I, you know,
that is 4, 4X. I have 4X, and my brain now said, even though the numbers of sign-ups are where
they were for the last event, but now that I’ve 4Xed it, that’s not looking very good, right?
Whereas if it had been a first 50-person room, I’d be like, “Well, I’m almost there.”
Viktoria Levenberg: Uh-huh.
Megan Blacksmith: So expanding the goal then made me question. I said, “No. No. You got to
stick to this. Like, this, yes, does not change.”
I have to trust and know I still will come back from the vacation. And I’m, I’m, I’ve just been back
literally this week, so this is the first week back, and just go, go all in with that time instead of—
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: Instead of going into that scarcity and fear space.
Viktoria Levenberg: Hundred percent. I mean, it’s, it’s, you know, the time container expands, or
work expands to fill the time container that you allow for it. And you are such a living, breathing
example of it.
And I’m so grateful that you brought this in, because when you told me, like, “Oh, hey, like, I’m
taking this and this much off,” and, you know, I know we’re in the same business community. I’ve
kind of seen the level of at which you operate, and you’re one of my way showers.
I’m like, “Oh, I can’t wait to get to Megan’s level and get to do that too.” And now you, I’m just
like, “Well, actually, I get to do that too whenever I want to.”
And then as I look at my life, I’m like, it’s already pretty great. Like, there’s just always this grass is
always greener, and we don’t realise, like, we are agents of our own life and time and energy.
And so thank you for naming that, that the financial piece may not have been there, but we tend
to value money above all else, when actually it’s the time and the energy and the memories that
you have with your kids.
Like, the relationship that I can only imagine that you have with your kids from them having a
fully present parent the entire summer while they’re off, the quality time, the things that you get
to do together that you will never get to do again when they’re that specific age. It’s, like, worth
more than any hundred and fifty opt-ins to your event, right? Like, surely.
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah. And it’s, like, the whole reason I do what I do. I love transformation, and
I do what I do to provide a life for my kids and my family. So to forget that that is a part of it and
to just fast-forward to the business part can, I can fall into that because I do love what I do.
So I, I, you know, I, I was saying that to my family members. I said, “It actually is hard for me to
shut down.” And that’s why I do it in such a very specific way, because this whole, “I’ll do a little
bit,” or, “I’m half in,” or, “I’ll just do that one call,” I’m horrible at that.
I just would be sucked right back in, and then I’m not present because I’m kind of like, “Oh yeah,
they’re wanting something, and they’re wanting something.” So this is intentional, because I get
so hyper-focused and so all in on my work.
It’s not really, it’s actually not the easiest thing for me to do. I mean, once I’m, once I’m there for
a week, I’m—
Viktoria Levenberg: You’re, you’re gone. You’re like, full on business.
Megan Blacksmith: Totally checked out.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yep.
Megan Blacksmith: Exactly. And Viktoria, it forced me to have, you know, systems and processes
and people in place, so for that to run, because the business does still run. There’s still an email
that goes every week. There’s still, I post every day.
So it did force me to say, “Okay, what, what do I not need to be doing? What, and/or what could I
do ahead of time? Or what’s a priority?”
So it really, I think, what do they say, like, if you take two weeks off, usually that’s the amount of
time where you can just allow stuff to pile up, and then when you come back, you just kind of put
out the fires.
But anything beyond two weeks, you can’t really get away with that necessarily. Like, your clients
would probably be thinking, “Where’s the business?” So beyond two weeks, then you do have to,
you do get into system space, and you do get into making it more sustainable.
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh, I love that. I can’t wait to kind of nerd out on some of the systems as well
that you’ve put in place that have made your life and business easier, cause we’re all about this
here as well. I could nerd out about that all day.
Um, and before we dive into that, a question that I love to ask, like, the experts, guests who come
onto the podcast as well is, what’s one thing that doesn’t show up on your official bio? So people
wouldn’t know this about Megan unless they listened to this interview.
Megan Blacksmith: Oh gosh. I’ve been sharing so open.
Viktoria Levenberg: I know. It’s really hard for personal brands, cause they were like, “What have I
not said?” Hahaha.
Megan Blacksmith: Well, and I’ve been pushing it a little bit more recently. I just shared, like,
personally about my hair falling out and, um, how as a health coach from the past, right, like, that
was my identity, and I started to have this physical thing happening that I, um, I’m like, “Okay, is it
emotional? Okay, let’s address that. Okay, is it, is it nutrients? Let’s, okay, is it my hormones?”
And going down the checklist, and still, I literally just cut my hair 5 inches just a couple days ago
because I still, it was just falling out and just dead at the end.
And it was starting to get into my mind. It was starting to get into my mind around ageing. And I
have not had a thing. I know, like, my, I’m fair-skinned, and my skin is really wrinkly just naturally.
It’s never bothered me. Like, this, the things that bother people about ageing haven’t bothered
me until this hair thing.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: I was like, “Oh, okay.” So then I, I—
Megan Blacksmith: I love to use everything that happens with me as, as a way. It’s the same thing
I’m teaching people, right? It’s like, okay, right, you’re uncomfortable. Let’s dig into what this is,
because it’s—some people are like, “It’s just hair. It grows back. It’s—” And it’s like, what is, what
is the belief here?
And for me, it was so much around, um, the idea that when you believe, like I believe, I really do
believe that magic is possible and that there’s so much that can be shifted in the subconscious
mind. I mean, in the quantum, like, in quantum physics, like, that literally every option is possible.
And that’s really empowering.
And at the same time, when someone has that belief, like me, and I know other people, they’re
like, okay, if I believe that, and then my physical body—it can be physical body, like in pain, or my
hair, or my headaches, or, or if my business bank account is 0, or if I’m not getting promoted—
and I believe that everything is possible, then what’s happening?
And therefore, the only, you know, the only person to point the fingers at is me. And in a way that
can become disempowering, because now it becomes a blame game of, “Well, ugh. Well, I know
there’s an emotional root to your hair falling out, and I clearly haven’t found that subconscious
reason.”
Viktoria Levenberg: Um, it’s like, you should have found it by now. You help others with this. Why
haven’t you figured this out? So, like, you are hot in the middle of the self-exploration. Like,
you’re on your own hero’s journey of figuring out the root cause of your hair falling out in real
time.
Megan Blacksmith: And I decided I would share it. I created a reel, and then I was like, “Why am I
gonna share this? This isn’t really helpful.” It’s, it was basically asking people on my Instagram
page, like, “Can you help me?”
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: And I really sat, I recorded it and I sat with it a while, cause I’m like, “Hmm,
this isn’t really on brand, as far as it’s not helping people through their transformation. It’s not
helping them with language or persuasion that I’m good at.”
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: And, um, I was like, “Nah, you know what? I’m gonna share it anyway,” cause I
was essentially admitting that the thought that came through from this hair thing was, “Is any—
therefore I’m, therefore I’m a fraud or a failure? Is anyone gonna listen to me if, you know, my
hair is doing this thing when I do—I’ve had amazing clients who used to have, um, many
autoimmune conditions, and now their numbers say zero from the work we’ve done. So it’s like,
why, how can that be overcome?”
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm.
Megan Blacksmith: “This little hair thing I haven’t figured out,” right?
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. And so many women, I can only imagine, would see
themselves in you as well. And, like, yeah, I think as a, as a business owner especially, um,
especially one who has realised the importance of messaging and sales and marketing your
offers, and realising you don’t just get to help people because you love helping people, um, even
though you’d love to. Haha.
Um, it kind of can get really stuck in that, like, everything has to be strategic, and every content I
put out there has to have a purpose. And then, like, that moment that you just had with, “Well,
like, this isn’t really relevant to what I’m selling, to what I’m offering,” but what it does is it helps
you—people get to know that you’re human, and it builds trust, and it’s authentic.
And also, like, I don’t know. I’m kind of tired of us having an agenda behind everything that we’re
doing.
Megan Blacksmith: And of course, which is of course funny.
Viktoria Levenberg: If you’re enjoying this episode, you will love my free newsletter, Flourish
Weekly. It is an email that you actually want to read, and you will be the first to hear about new

Now, let’s get back to the episode.
Megan Blacksmith: Funny, not funny, but that’s exactly what that, that one post has 90
comments, and my posts don’t get 90 comments. I’m like, “Of course.” But it was a community
thing. People are like, “Here’s what’s worked. Here’s what, you know—” So it was everyone’s
jumping in.
I was really kind of blown away with the amount of support, cause I haven’t asked that kind of
question, I guess, in a long time. And people were really like, “I just, I just want to help, and I
just—” And, and or they said, “I have nothing to offer, and I’m in the same position.” So it was a
little bit of both of those.
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm. And people love helping people. I think that’s what I’m starting to,
like, really recognise. And, and a lot of people poo-poo social media, but I think there’s this really
beautiful part of social media where you have, like, just really kind-hearted humans who just are
going on there for a bit of entertainment. They’ve had a big day, they just want to numb out, but
they also want to help, and they want to support, and, and like you, a perfect example of that.
And maybe they’re struggling themselves and, and they also want to reach out. And so speaking
of kind of the struggles, and, and you’ve mentioned a lot, you’ve spoken a lot about the
subconscious mind and reprogramming some of the thoughts and beliefs and patterns that are
holding people back from the dreams and desires that they have, whether it’s in business,
whether it’s getting the promotion in their career.
Tell me a little bit more about some of the most common misconceptions that you’re seeing with
your clients, and, like, what maybe someone listening to you now could take away from that into
their own business, life, and work.
Megan Blacksmith: I think the people I attract most are very much in—they’re the helpers,
they’re the healers, they’re, they really do care about humanity, right? So they have these big
hearts, and maybe they have a product that helps people.
And at the same time, they’re really feeling like a push against sales, is all I’ll say, right? There’s
just some deep belief there of, “Yes, but if I’m here to help people, then therefore I shouldn’t be
asking for money. I shouldn’t be charging a lot of money,” right? This, this push and pull.
And so then I see amazing people with amazing skills burning out within two or three years of
whatever, starting their practice, because they’re just not—they’re just not getting paid enough,
and there’s so much to do in the beginning to build the business.
Then they no longer want to do it, and they, they have this gift. So it makes me so sad to think
that now this person might go back to a job that they—isn’t their gift. And it really was rooted in
this, um, belief around money.
So I feel like it’s just such a common one with people who care a lot. And it’s like, well, wouldn’t
we like the people who care a lot to have more money?
Viktoria Levenberg: Thank you.
Megan Blacksmith: Right? Imagine where they are going to filter their resources. Imagine where,
what they are going to focus on. Imagine how the, you know, I don’t mean to be like, how the
world changes, right?
Viktoria Levenberg: And, but yes, like, we are here bringing in the new earth in a way. Like, we
can get woo on this podcast. Like, it’s true. We’re here. We’re part of the transition team.
Megan Blacksmith: Yes.
Viktoria Levenberg: And, and thank you for naming that, because I get really passionate about
this. Like, this has been a big part of my story as well. And I genuinely believe that more
resources in the hands of conscious, kind-hearted, responsible humans equals a more conscious,
kind-hearted, responsible world.
Look at the ish going out on out there. Like, what do you think that is?
Megan Blacksmith: Yes.
Viktoria Levenberg: Four-year-olds running out with a lot of cash.
Megan Blacksmith: I feel like that, that becomes the responsibility of the people who are kind-
hearted to learn these skills that they’re pushing against. To be the ones that they say, “Oh, that’s
just marketing,” or, “Oh, that’s manipulation,” or, right, the ones they’re pushing against.
Uh, I believe that we, the collective that are really wanting to shift the way the earth is, put
something into place where you are actively learning, that you are actively getting better at
persuasion. I mean, when you have something so powerful to offer.
And also actively working on the beliefs that would stop you from taking in a lot of money, right?
The beliefs that would stop you from—maybe it’s a ceiling you had in corporate, right? “I only
ever made this amount.” That’s really common. We’ll see people move from corporate job to
working from—for themselves and just can never pass that number.
That’s so—maybe it’s what their parents made, right? So there’s this huge tie to, “Well, you know,
my parents made this amount. We had a good life,” and, you know, they kind of accept that, that
level of money. And if I were to go beyond, no one is saying this usually in the family outwardly.
They just are like, “Well, I won’t fit in.”
Um, or they might actually be saying it outwardly. I mean, I have family members who will drive
by these really big houses on the lake where we live, and it’s like the cottage that we rented
growing up has been—it was torn down, and now there is the biggest mansion on the whole lake
is on that property.
So it’s the property we rented every summer. When we go by, I’m like, “That’s where we rented,”
and everyone’s like, “Really?” And I’m like, “No—”
It was like a, it was literally like a little shack at the time. You know, it was like no, you know, no air
conditioning, just like a really tiny lake cottage.
And I, I, there were people in my family who are disgusted by this huge house, right? Because it
had this like, “Oh, it was this little cottage we rented.”
And so I personally think that house looks amazing.
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh my God, same. I’m like, give me all the abundance.
Megan Blacksmith: Like I, if I had that place, I could see, I mean, I could have 20 of my friends
staying there. It’s, it’s gorgeous. And I understand, I understand this feeling of nostalgia and like,
this is where we grew up and that small-town feel.
And I’m all for this abundance of this huge, huge house, not just for the sake of a huge house. For
the sake of like, imagine what kind of groups or people I could have there. Imagine what kind of
fun and who I could bring in.
Viktoria Levenberg: Exactly.
Megan Blacksmith: And wouldn’t experience that otherwise.
Viktoria Levenberg: And what you’re sharing right now is such a exact reflection of a kind
hearted, conscious human stewarding these resources versus the opposite of someone who
probably currently owns that house, and it’s just this mansion standing alone, and they only have
staff cleaning it for the sake of it being clean, but no one’s actually ever occupying it, and they
have no loved ones or friends or family to come and bring there.
Versus you. So like, like case in point, you’ve just proven it right there.
Megan Blacksmith: Right. And so then the family members who are saying like, “Ugh, that place
is like such a mansion,” they’re really coming from the perspective you just said of someone
who’s bought this fancy house, doesn’t even live in the state, and it’s sitting there. And, and I can
see, right, it’s not being used, so they feel this ick about it.
The problem is, though, that then me, my subconscious is going, okay, people I love think that
that is actually evil, for sake of a better word, right? That is actually a bad choice. That is for
people who don’t care about people. And now I’m in this internal battle because I want that.
I still want that huge mansion.
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm. Right. Yes, girl.
Megan Blacksmith: And I’m thinking, okay, so when you follow that chain, a lot of times our brain
says, okay, I can have that, and I might lose people I love, or I might lose respect, I might lose
love, I—what, right?
And, and it might not be, those people might not even be alive in your life. So it’s not like you
actually have to be worried about losing love. It’s the, it’s the core subconscious. It’s usually the
caregivers and the parent, people we were grew, grew up with, where we are still afraid of losing
their love and connection, even if they’re not even around.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah. Wow.
Megan Blacksmith: So that’s the work I do, is help people go back to that moment. We go back to
memories. We go back to specific moments where you made that decision, uh, “It’s not safe to
want a lot, want a lot of money.”
Or I had—I hope my second-grade teacher’s not listening—I had, I stole a coin in second grade
on a show-and-tell. People were passing around these old coins, and I was like—I took it, thinking
somehow, I’d get away with it, which I didn’t.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah. Uh-huh.
Megan Blacksmith: Cause then everyone said, “Well, where did it go?” And then I realised I was
gonna be busted. And so now I’m like, “Oh no, let’s all look.” And so then I hid it and pretended to
find it.
And so I, this moment, right, which was not a big deal, although I made a, I made a decision in
that moment that I can’t be trusted with money.
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh my God.
Megan Blacksmith: I definitely can’t manage it, right? I tried to steal it. It wasn’t mine. And so
that was actually a memory that I didn’t have conscious, like, I wasn’t thinking about it.
But in this hypnotic process that I do with clients, that was one of the things I went back to. And
so you’re basically able to rewrite old stories and old things that happened by seeing it from, you
know, the age I—right now, we can laugh about that now. Like, okay, well, second grader took a
coin. She thought it was shiny.
And so I was able to see it from that perspective of like, okay, of course I wanted it then, and I
didn’t know any better. And you're kind of, you’re rewriting with all the wisdom now of, why did I,
why would I have put that in my movie, my life movie? Like, what was that there to teach me?
And that did teach me a lesson of, yeah, I mean, we can’t just take things that aren’t ours, and
there are consequences. And I can get that lesson without now deciding Megan is not a person
who should receive or have a lot of money.
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm.
Megan Blacksmith: And so we’re going back and finding those events. And then as we rewire and
rewrite those events, it’s really, really fun. And I know you believe in the magical, Viktoria. It’s
really, really fun.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yes. Talk to me Megan.
Megan Blacksmith: Then in real life. Like, I’ll clear, clear out a subconscious story like that, and
then in real life money will flow into the account, right? The person who hadn’t been paying is all
of a sudden like, “You know what? Here’s the $12,000 I owe you,” right? It just flows, and it’s
always right after that.
Viktoria Levenberg: Wow. It’s like, I mean, the proof is literally in the pudding, haha. Like, in the
money, in the moolah. It’s like, wow.
And it is like, thank you for sharing this specific example as well, because I think it’s gonna hit
home for so many entrepreneurs, and also so many people who are still in corporate who may
have that ceiling. Maybe they’re afraid of asking for the pay rise. Maybe they’re tired of every
single year just getting the 2% merit increase, which is like way behind, you know, the 6 to 8%
rate of inflation. So you’re slowly like just dwindling away your paycheck. It’s just, it’s terrifying.
And yet there is that inherent belief that’s then also reinforced by society and conditioning that
just is almost there to like keep us small, and this invisible ceiling.
And like, I’m in real time myself, like, breaking through that and kind of in my own messy middle.
And it’s just so interesting how powerful the deeper layers of our mind are that we don’t even
know about.
Megan Blacksmith: So I had someone come to—so my, when I do an actual certification training,
it’s six days live in person. So six days for level 1, eight days level 2. It’s an intensive.
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm.
Megan Blacksmith: This, you know, thing. So I had a woman come, and she was, uh, an HR
director at a company. And so toward the end of the week she said, “Megan, I love how much
you talk about,” right, “the magic of money flowing to me, and just that there’s, there’s, there is
no limit. We can make as much money as we want,” and all that, all of that.
She said, and she said, “I have a job. I’ve got a J-O-B,” right? Like, “I get paid a certain amount.”
Because a lot of the people I attract are entrepreneurs, right? So they could just decide their
coaching, they could just say, “I’m charging double,” right? They can do that.
Whereas I get it, you’re in a job. There’s amount you make every year. And she said, “So”—
because I always tell people, I say, “If you come all in and you’re ready to do the work, you will be
able to make back your investment of what you paid for training. Hands down. Really not that
hard.”
I’ve had people make that money during the week by selling something in the future. So, uh, and
so she said, “I love that, and I just don’t know how that’s gonna happen for me.”
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm.
Megan Blacksmith: And I didn’t really—I didn’t know how it was gonna happen for her either.
Viktoria Levenberg: So, yeah, like, not your job to figure that out. Hahaha.
Megan Blacksmith: So I said to her, I said, “Okay, I understand this. It is different. It is very
different to just say, ‘I have a business, and I can make changes all the time.’” And, um, as we
know in business, I mean, one small shift in what you offer, how you offer it, really can make a big
difference.
And so I said, “But will you just be open to the magic of how this happens?” Because what I see is
when people come, they go all in, they’re willing to work through those old beliefs of receiving
money, um, being safe in their body, being safe in their life, when they really lean into all of that,
magic happens.
And she said, “Okay, I am open.” So she leaves training. Training ended on—I think it ended on a
Saturday. And so this was a—she sent me a message on a Monday. So I’m telling you that only
because she hadn’t even gone back into work.
It wasn’t like she went back to work and did a great job, but she hadn’t gone back into work, and
she forwarded me a message from her boss. And she said, “I cannot believe this. I don’t even
know what to do right now.”
But she had a message from her boss saying, “Hey, you’ve been doing such a great job. I wanna
give you a 15% raise, and I wanna back pay, backdate it to January.” And this was in May. So
basically, here’s five months of pay.
And that was that. And, and then, so, you know, a couple hours go by, and she’s like, “I don’t—
this is crazy.” And so she had, she had taken her own time off, and she had paid for the training,
cause it was—she was just interested in it. She wasn’t doing it through her work.
So, yeah, she hadn’t asked them, but they did know. They knew what she was going to, and they
said they knew it would benefit her job. Of course, it’s relating with humans.
So, and she said a second email two hours later, and it was said, “You know what? We know you
paid for this yourself, and you took your, your paid time off, your PTO, so we just want you to take
back your time off.”
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh my God.
Megan Blacksmith: Which is, which is money, right? I mean, it’s—
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: It was a week of time.
Viktoria Levenberg: It’s from the universe. So, like, what you just said, you’re gonna make this
back.
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah. It was super cool. And I said, and that’s not even with you going back to
work. And now you will—she will be interacting with people in a different way. She will make a
bigger impact on the company, and then they’ll get to see that too.
So that’s not even like, now I’m a better leader and I’m making more money. That, to me, that’s
just the magic of when we, when we believe in ourselves, invest in ourselves, it comes.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yes. Yes. I mean, like, as our coach says—The magic, or the transformation,
begins with the transaction, right? And, um, you know, it’s, it’s not just the work, it’s not just the
business, it’s also, I can imagine, how she shows up in with her family.
Cause you mentioned before, like, that’s how you got into neuro-linguistic programming, and like,
because the way that we communicate and perceive information is so huge. And I think I would
just love to hear, from someone who’s like never heard of NLP before, right? Cause they might
be, they might be like, “Ah, we’re talking about the subconscious, we’re talking about shifting
beliefs. I kind of get it, but like, Neuro what?” Haha.
Can you just explain it for like 101, what it, what it’s about?
Megan Blacksmith: Absolutely. I get so excited, I forget to just start with the basics.
Viktoria Levenberg: So it’s all good. I, we’re all guilty of it. Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: Okay, so neuro, neuro part meaning the mind, linguistic meaning language,
and programming for the fact that everything, everything we believe, every strategy we have is a
program.
Because our brains are always optimising, like it always is about efficiency. So obviously you don’t
want to get up every day and have to relearn how to brush your teeth, right? So we are running
programs, automatic behaviour strategies, every single day, all day, which is great if you like the
program you’re running on, and not great if the program you’re running on is, “I only deserve
good things when I’m working really hard,” right? Like, “My productivity is my worthiness,” or,
right? Or so then that one day you’re sick, you’re no longer worthy, right?
So it just depends on whatever the programming is. And with the language piece of NLP, the
language is learning, learning what words people are using in order to be able to discover what is
their model of the world.
So what, based on their language, you use their language and questioning from their language to
discover, how could they possibly believe what they’re believing? Because if you believed what
they’re believing, you would also do what they’re doing.
And so we’re using language to become really powerful question askers and break open what the
language patterns are. So you first use the language to discover what they’re thinking, and then
you can use language to help them shift what they’re thinking.
Viktoria Levenberg: Hmm, how good.
Megan Blacksmith: And then that’s, so it starts with language, and then we have a bunch of
different tools we use. Like one is quantum time technique. It’s a timeline process to go back and
rewrite the subconscious. So there’s subconscious reprogramming tools that people are learning
as a coach.
But then there’s also just the language piece of, when you get really, really good at language, you
start to understand that people are either deleting, or distorting, or generalising all the time. And
you just start to know in their language, “Oh, they just deleted a whole bunch. They just deleted
a whole bunch of stuff.”
And so then you can discover what they deleted and help them realise that they deleted
something. Otherwise they’re just like, “No, all women who have children can’t have a successful
business,” and that will just be a belief.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: Until you start to break open, who specific? What specific women? And like,
where, you know, more details. And then you start to poke holes in it for them. So that, you
know, the whole goal is to lead someone where they’re, where they’re wanting to go.
Viktoria Levenberg: I love that. I, that is so powerful. And I think I’m keen to poke some holes in
our listeners’ brains right now, because I perked up when you said that, you know, you were also
in that corporate world, and you were in that box that you didn’t really fit into, and that kind of
took you on the trajectory of entrepreneurship and, and bringing you here today.
I’ve noticed a pattern recently in, uh, listeners of my podcast and my audience and a lot of the
people who I attract, and maybe it’s because I’m in that space now as well. I’ve like still got one
foot in the door, one foot kind of on my way out.
Excuse me. Oh ho ho, haha.
It’s like throat chakra, it’s like, hoo, yeah, time to speak this out loud. Okay.
Message received.
Megan Blacksmith: It’s gonna be a good one.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yep. It’s gonna be a good one, is, um, to the woman or man or person who is
stuck in a job, which by the way, if they don’t know what that means, it means just over broke,
that they secretly know on a soul level is no longer meant for them, and they have deep down
inside this little inkling, this little hole, this little itch they wanna scratch to do something else, but
the belief running the show is, “I’m not cut out for this. All businesses fail. You know, I need
stability and security. Why would I ever leave this job?” Blah, blah, blah.
Can you kind of speak to your experience and some of the clients whom you’ve worked with?
Cause I heard you say that you’ve also worked with people who are in that transition space, and
like, what are some of the biggest things holding them back?
Megan Blacksmith: And, and I, I mean, I heard that message very directly when I was thinking
about leaving engineering, or like, “Really? Just five years you spent to get this degree, hundreds
of thousands of dollars. Like, you have benefits,” all the things.
So I get that. Um, the interesting thing about life is that we’re always growing, right? We’re
always evolving. And if we don’t listen to the nudges that our brain and our souls are telling us,
we will get the push out of the nest.
So I always ask people, would you like to start taking action towards this, or you can wait. And
when you do wait, what will happen is actually what happened to me at that point in my life. I
was waiting, and I, one day my job said, cause I stayed, I was half-time, half time health coach
and half-time still in engineering doing contract work, and one day they said, “We don’t have any
more work for you.” And it was just in that day, you’re done.
And so I didn’t really have, I didn’t really have the mentors and the guide and the, the guides and
the trainings I had now. So I didn’t really have people that I looked up to that I said, “Oh, they’re
doing this. I can too.”
So I waited, and I was kicked out of the nest, and it was very uncomfortable because I wasn’t
totally ready. Whereas now I always think, okay, I know I look to where I am going and I’m like,
well, I know I’m, I know I’m here to grow and expand, so I know I’m gonna get the kick.
Do I want to take the action? So I’m always looking for, what’s the next action that I can take that
is moving in that direction?
Viktoria Levenberg: That’s right.
Megan Blacksmith: Um, my choice to expand. So I know it’ll be uncomfortable, cause that’s, you
know, that’s where the growth is.
Viktoria Levenberg: Mm-hmm.
Megan Blacksmith: But it’s my kind of uncomfortable. My example would be, I just signed up for,
you know, in the last few months, a, uh, program about speaking and speaking on stage, and I get
to fly somewhere and do a presentation, and I’m scared out of my mind.
Viktoria Levenberg: Wow. Oh my God, that is so exciting.
Megan Blacksmith: It really pushed me. It pushed me past my comfort zone, and I, it investment-
wise, it pushed me. Everything about it pushed me.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: And I said, okay, this is my, this is my choice of pushing. Whereas I do believe
that if I, because I, I know I’m on a growth path, that if I don’t do that, like, I don’t really want the
lesson to come in the form of, like, a car breaking down or some family thing. Like, I know the
lesson will come.
So I just choose the uncomfortable thing to be in the zone of growth and business and using my
voice and that kind of growth.
So one, I think, I love your question, and I think having people around you, I’d say the advice for
the listeners are, if you don’t know someone who’s doing what you wanna be doing, find
someone.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: Because seeing that it’s possible is really, makes it possible. As soon as you
see it can be done. And find someone who’s doing it in a way that is the way you would want to
be doing it, right?
Because it’s easy to go, “Oh, I found this other person who’s doing this, but, oh, but they don’t
have children.” So then your brain can just decide, like, that’s the only reason they’re doing it.
Like, find someone who really, you’re like, “No, they are like me, and they did it.”
And then that’s what another thing NLP is all about, modelling. So once you find someone doing
that, you’re like, what were they, what are they thinking? What are they feeling? What are they
saying to themselves? What do they see, hear, feel?
So you can really elicit somebody’s strategy. And like we do with our lovely James Wedmore, like,
his way of thinking and borrowing, “Okay, I don’t, I don’t fully know that that’s true yet, but
James says, and I’ve seen, you know, he’s further along the path, so I’m like, okay, less I do, more I
make. Okay, James, like, we’re gonna, I’m gonna lean into this.”
Viktoria Levenberg: Uh-huh.
Megan Blacksmith: Before you’ve really seen it.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yes, yes, yes, yes to all of this. And I think something that really kind of stuck
out for me as well was when you said the sentence of, “I’m not ready yet.” And I think that’s a
really dangerous place to stay in. Um, I’m not gonna lie, it’s this place where I’m in now, um, and I
think a lot of people.
And, and the ready is such an arbitrary thing because it’s like, well, what does ready mean? Does
ready mean contemplating your exit strategy? Does ready mean giving yourself permission to
dream about the idea? Does ready mean getting real, radically honest about the finances that
need to be in place for you to do this?
Um, you know, there’s, there’s these different stages, I think, of, of ready and of specific
uncomfortable actions that we get to take. And this is really interesting that that came up, and
I’m so, like, just bizarrely wow about the throat chakra thing that just happened here, cause like,
as we are speaking, I’m in this liminal space of like, WTF am I doing with my business? Is like, how
do I niche down and get even more specific?
And I got this little nudge like the other day, and this is the first time I’ve kind of spoken to it, and
I have my own little limiting beliefs as to why not. And so I’m like, okay, well, maybe this is
something to lean into, because I think there are so many people stuck in a job they know is no
longer the right fit for them for the wrong reasons, and they’re too scared to make the leap.
But the more of our people I speak to, the more I hear the same thing over and over again. “I
wanna be financially free. I wanna be independent. I wanna live the life that of my design.” And
like, I’m sorry, but staying stuck in a job is not gonna get you there.
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah.
Viktoria Levenberg: So, hmm, lots of, lots to tinker and ponder on. Thank you for kind of co-
facilitating that little, uh, breakthrough moment.
And on, on that note, like speaking of breakthroughs, the question I love to ask our guests that’s
like signature way to start to bring things to a close is, what is one thing that you wish would
resonate the most with people for a long time after this episode ends? Like, if there was just one
thing they’re like, “Oh, Megan said this,” and yep, this is, this is gonna stay and start to plant little
seeds in my subconscious mind.
Megan Blacksmith: Do it scared.
My big, my big mission I’m on personally is doing, doing things before I’m ready. Doing it scared,
which is just what you’re saying. It’s taking that next step.
For me, it was taking that next step to just rent that huge space and trusting that it would come
together. For someone else, it might be starting that podcast. It might be asking for the
promotion. It might be asking for the time off. I don’t know. It’s just, what is the one next thing
that you can do that’s a little bit outside your comfort zone?
I think if we go too big, then we kind of like traumatise ourselves, right? We go so big, and then
we’re like, “I don’t want to do it that again. That was so horrible.” Whereas if we can just
continuously do something a little bit outside, and a little bit outside, and a little bit outside, we
end up in a totally different life and in a totally different version of us.
And we meet the right people, and we meet the, you know, the next thing that’s in our path.
And, you know, actually, so Viktoria, I’m on, I would love to anybody who’s listening to this and,
you know, I’m in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and I’m gonna be doing a live event in October. Anybody
who’s listening to this and wants to come, I’d love to give everybody a 100 dollar off coupon
code.
Viktoria Levenberg: Thank you. That is so generous.
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah. We, I can give it to you, and also we can just message me, anyone who
messages me on Instagram. So @blacksmith_training_co will, I’ll get you that.
I know the investment really would be, will be in getting there, attending three days. So you’re
gonna be invested even if you pay less for the ticket. So my goal is to get as many people are even
just kind of interested in, what is it? What is this about? It’s a, it’s a way, it’s a way to experience it
for three days. It’s kind of like when you go to a yoga studio and they give you the first class for
free.
I’ve made the event is $297, which is like not even—
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh my God, that is a no-brainer. What? And, and what’s the event like? Can
you just, can share a little bit more about the promise of the event?
Megan Blacksmith: Yes. So we are gonna, so it is the personal development for business owners.
So entrepreneurs, thought leaders, coaches. We’re gonna be doing the personal transformation
work.
So day one, 2 to 3, 3 is when we’re finally, we’re finally using our voice. Day two is where we’re
thinking of like, what is it I wanna do scared? What is my next thing? And we’re gonna do
processes. We’re gonna do hypnotic processes to actually shift beliefs real time.
I, what happens for me, and the reason why I am willing to rent such a big space, the reason why
I’m willing to have a low-investment three-day event, is that I have had the biggest shifts in in-
person spaces. Because even getting there, you might even have your, the one thing you really
need to be working through might be come from the lunch you have with one person, or the fact
that in order to get there, you had to take 3 days off, or someone had to watch the kids.
So the, all the things that go with getting to an in-training event, people will have their
breakthroughs just getting there, is what I found. And then whatever is bubbled to the surface,
that’s what we’re there to clear and shift.
And it happens so fast in one-on-one, in real time, in person. And then that way, what I do is
really, really deep work. And it’s, you know, for, for people to come to the certification, it’s six
days to eight days. So that’s not something most people want to do without really experiencing
how I would.
So this is the come experience it. I want as many people as possible to come experience it. And
then the people who really want to go forward will know.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah.
Megan Blacksmith: Right? They’ll be like, “Okay.” And the people who are not, they will leave
with huge transformation in their life. So it’s, it’s a win-win for everybody. It’s a win for the people
to know this is for me. It’s the win for them to know this isn’t.
Viktoria Levenberg: This is amazing. And what are the dates in October?
Megan Blacksmith: October 12th to fourteenth.
Viktoria Levenberg: 12 to 14 for Virginia Beach.
Megan Blacksmith: I mean, I know it’s far for you. You’re welcome to come, Viktoria. Hahaha.
Viktoria Levenberg: I know. I’m like, I, I’ve got my little big ass calendar on the side. I’m like quietly
eyeing up the calendar. I was like, I don’t know. I’m like in the liminal space, so we’ll see.
I mean, like, I’ve been to the States three times this year. Can I get away with the fourth? I don’t
know, but you’ve planted the seeds. So TBC.
Megan Blacksmith: I would love that. I would love that.
Viktoria Levenberg: And like, oh my God, I just cannot believe what a no-brainer of an investment
that is as well. Like, girl, you’re—
Megan Blacksmith: It’s on purpose.
Viktoria Levenberg: Yeah. I, I, I see, I see the strategy, and I also see that it’s, um, definitely like
anyone listening, um, you know, if you’re keen for a little getaway to Virginia Beach, or you’re in
the vicinity, maybe you’re in the States, like, oh my God, get your booty over there.
Because this is a no-brainer three-day event for, and you’re giving us a hundred-dollar discount
on top of that. It’s like mind-blowing.
Um, thank you. That is so generous of you. And speaking of like working with you, finding you,
where can people kind of interact with you on, on the socials? What else do you offer if they
wanna, um, get to know you better?
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah. So blacksmithtrainingco.com is the website. And then same thing,
Instagram. Instagram is really where I hang out the most. So, so I’m, I’m on there all the time. DM
me.
I love to hear people’s realisations, ahas from podcasts. So if there’s something that stuck out,
please message. It’s so fun for me to know, cause, you know, we never know. Our voice is going
out into the abyss sometimes.
Viktoria Levenberg: The deep dark hole of nothingness.
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah. We love, I love hearing just any feedback. So it’s
@blacksmith_training_co. But if you, if you type in Blacksmith Training will, um—
Viktoria Levenberg: Get you linked up in the show notes as well, so it’s gonna be nice and easy to
find. And you said you have a podcast as well. What’s the name of the podcast?
Megan Blacksmith: I do. So the podcast is still in my old business branding at the moment, so
Becoming Zesty.
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh, I like that.
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah.
Viktoria Levenberg: Is that still from like your health coaching days?
Megan Blacksmith: Yep, yep.
Viktoria Levenberg: That’s so cool. I like it. I think there’s something about it, and there’s like
something about your ginger hair and just like your energy that’s like, Zesty sounds, I don’t know,
like, yeah. Like, I wouldn’t even change that if I were you.
Megan Blacksmith: My original, my original health coaching business was Ginger Nutrition, and
then it went to Zesty Ginger, and then it went to Becoming Zesty. So it’s been all over. It’s been
great.
Viktoria Levenberg: As we, you know, in the self-development world.
So, okay, amazing. Well, we’ll link all that up in the show notes below. Um, yeah, make sure you
give Megan a follow, send her a DM, DM, let her know what your big takeaway was from today.
And also, yeah, podcast listeners love podcasts, so, um, I will definitely be tuning in.
And remember, 12th to 14th of October, Virginia Beach.
Megan Blacksmith: Yes.
Viktoria Levenberg: Party time, breakthroughs, ahas.
If you, this might be the investment—no, not might—this will be the investment that breaks
through your little money ceiling. If when you listen to that story earlier, you’re like, “Oh, I need
that.”
Megan Blacksmith: Yeah. Hundred percent.
Viktoria Levenberg: Oh my gosh, amazing. Thank you so much for coming on. This has been so
much fun. I personally learned so much, and I know that, um, the person listening right now is
also like having some really mind-blown emoji moments.
Uh, it is such a privilege to bring your story and your work to my community. So thank you from
the bottom of my heart for being here.
Megan Blacksmith: Thank you.
Viktoria Levenberg: This episode was so fun, and to be honest, I don’t think there’s much more
left to be said. Um, Megan really just hit the nail home with, “Do it scared.”
And I think some of the big themes that came up for me, I mean, my biggest one is like, what the
F is going on with my throat right now—I’ve got this, like, weird thing that doesn’t usually only
happens for me when I’m, like, trying to say something that I’m not ready to say yet. And that’s
really interesting because if you’ve listened to any of my previous episodes, like back when I was
in my health coaching days and, like, talking about chakras and the yoga things, like, my throat
chakra is the chakra that I’m working on opening up. Like, that is the chakra that is most blocked
for me in this lifetime.
And the fact that something just, like, came up as soon as I only even entertained the idea of the
potential direction in my business and getting a little bit more specific with what I’m speaking to
is like, okay.
I, I don’t know. I don’t know if this is you. Like, maybe you’re still even not willing to admit to
yourself that there is something else that you wanna pursue. Maybe you’re still, like, you’re a
high earner, you’re in a successful job, you’ve done all the right things, ticked all the right boxes
on paper, but deep down inside your soul quietly leaves the building when you enter through the
doors.
And I, I, I don’t know. Maybe you’re in that liminal space. Maybe you’re in the space where you’re
starting to brainstorm and have these ideas, but then you instantly shut them down because of
that limiting belief of, like, “Oh no, who am I to do this?”
I have no idea. Like, this is so fresh. This is feeling really vulnerable for me right now as well. So all
I’m gonna say is just, like, make sure that you keep an eye out on my socials because, um,
obviously at the time of this recording, we’re a little bit ahead of when this will actually air.
Hopefully I will have had the breakthrough and the haha moment I need to, um, by that point,
but we’ll see.
Um, and all that to say is just, yeah, the conversation with Megan really highlighted to me the
mismatch between doing what you love and doing what you think you should be doing because
you wanna sacrifice, because you wanna provide for your family, because it’s what someone else
told you to do.
And the more you get to know yourself, the more you truly understand your purpose, the more
you see what lights you up, what fills up your energy, and you’re crystal clear on what the energy
drains are, the more of your power you reclaim.
And, like, I’m in the same journey myself, friends. I’m still in corporate part-time as I build this
business, and I’m so grateful for it all because it is all just such a big learning journey. And, um,
you know, like, life is great.
And so if you are wherever you are on your journey, whether you’re at the very beginning or the
very end and you’re about to hand in that resignation, just know that, like, do it scared. Take the
night next right step. And we’re, we’re all in this together.
And bringing it back to kind of the core themes of what Megan was talking about with the beliefs
around money and worthiness and success, like, the more you can start to get deeper into some
of these things, like, most people totally misunderstand and underestimate the power of the
subconscious mind.
Like, you think that just the thoughts that you, like, “I’m just gonna think harder and manifest it to
fruition.” You don’t realize is that 90% of your life is being created from what you don’t
consciously see or have agency over.
And so if it’s not Megan, you know, just make sure that you reach out to someone. You’ve got a
someone who can help you with that subconscious piece. I highly recommend Megan because, I
mean, like, just, I love her energy, I love her vibe.
If you are in the US or anywhere in the world and you feel like having a little trip to Virginia
Beach, make sure that you get to her event. She has been so generous. First of all, like, oh my
God, I can’t believe the no-brainer investment that she’s charging for it. And then she’s giving us
33% off with a hundred-dollar voucher. It’s like, what even do you need to understand? Like,
she’s, she’s gonna put—this is worth thousands of dollars that you get to receive for less than a
fancy dinner night out.
So my goodness, like, I’m tempted. I’m not gonna lie. I don’t know if I, I’ll be there. We’ll see. But
I’m, I’m very tempted. And if you are too, do it scared.
Um, and otherwise, just make sure that you follow Megan in her socials, have a listen to her
podcast. She is amazing. And I hope that you have learned and had some big breakthroughs and
ahas, um, from today’s episode. I definitely have.
And in the meantime, make sure you tune in next week because I will be coming to you with all
the reasons why the stories you telling yourself in your head about why you can’t rest or practice
self-care as a high achiever is actually your subconscious mind and nervous system trying to hold
you back from expanding into your next level of greatness.
So I’ll see you next week. In the meantime, remember, change the way that you see the world
and you can change your life. See you next week.
Viktoria Levenberg: Okay, be honest with me. How many times have you spent the late nights, or
checking emails on the weekend, or taking that six PM phone call, or maybe just literally
dreaming or thinking of your work deadlines before going to bed? Or how about this one? How
many times have you skipped your lunch break?
Yeah, I know a bit. It’s confronting, isn’t it?
Well, I have created a tool just for you which will help you put a number to the true cost of your
overwork. It is my signature true cost of overwork calculator that will show you how much you
are actually getting paid versus what you think you’re getting paid based on your salary, based on
the hours that you are putting in.
I’m gonna put a little disclaimer there. This can be quite confronting, but there’s nothing that will
facilitate behaviour change as much as seeing the truth for what it is. And this is what I love
about maths, is that math just math. It’s got no feelings, no emotions, nothing attached to it. The
numbers just are what they are. You give it the meaning you want to.
If you wanna find out now, just click the link below in the show notes. It is all completely
confidential. I don’t see any of the results. It is all just there for your leisure. Give it a try. And if
you’ve had any AHAs or realisations, I would love to hear your feedback. Send me a DM. Let’s
have a chat.
